Has anyone bought or used a steamy wonder? I am thinking about buying one but they are very expensive and I don't know any one who has used one. . .

Looks pretty cool.
I'd rather have a Far Infrared Sauna. They have small portable ones, like these:

I tried it at a trade show, and it was quite good for the price. Far Infrared is better for detox than steam. -

Thu, July 27, 2006 - 10:22 PMI used a steamy wonder at the spa I used to work at. It is best if you have a dedicated room where it can live and we rigged up a pulley system from the ceiling so that you could drop it down on the client. It's a bit cumbersome and needs to be cleaned and can have uneven heating sometimes. If you want to know more just tribe me.

Re: Steamy Wonder
Thu, August 17, 2006 - 7:34 PMHey.
We used a Steamy Wonder in the spa I used to work at.
The only challenge we had was keeping it clean. If it wasn't cleaned after every use, it got grungy and if you think about it-that's kinda gross with all the heat and stuff.
Once you get the hang of attaching it to the table, it's like lying in a sauna.
Apply some nice cool eye compresses and don't leave the room while someone is in it. You can perform a nice scalp massage or facial pressure points or just let them relax.
It was also a challenge to store it while not in use-it's pretty big and bulky.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the info. I have decided to go with a similar steam tent made by sacredstone.com. (it's cheaper!). I will make sure I clean it well after each use!
